Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10, launched on November 3 this year, is absolutely awesome. The phone sports the first Android(Donut version 1.6) based OS from the proprietors. Among the general features, it has a huge 4.0″ TFT 480×854 pixels 262,144 colour touchscreen, 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and touch focus, Wi-Fi™, micro USB connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

According to the SE portal, the UX platform builds on top of the Open OS and creates a unique Sony Ericsson user experience by combining best-in-class entertainment features with signature applications, unrivalled integration of social media services and a rich graphical user interface. The XPERIA™ X10 is the first mobile phone to truly humanise the way people interact with their phones.

Rikko Sakaguchi, EVP and Chief Creation Officer, Sony Ericsson said, “The XPERIA™ X10 is a fantastic example of our make.believe philosophy because we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible and demonstrating that anything consumers can imagine, we can make possible. With the X10, we are raising the bar we have set ourselves with entertainment-rich phones like Aino and Satio by making communication more fun and playful, multiplying and enriching opportunities to connect.”

SE has introduced signature applications like Mediascape and Timescape™, the XPERIA™ X10 lets consumers organise everything in their phone in an intuitive way:

* Sony Ericsson Timescape™ manages all your communication with one person in one place. Browse through your conversations the bright way to check out your Facebook™, Twitter™, photos, emails, and texts all in one go

* Sony Ericsson Mediascape is the smart way to get all the music, photos and videos you want from your favourite friends and artists. It accesses content from everywhere – your phone, YouTube™, PlayNow™ – and presents everything for you

If you are one of those who hated listening to the price tag of Sony Ericsson Satio shaking your head in disagreement over its disadvantages and undeserving functions, then don’t bother reading this post. And if you are planning to buy or have bought the model or are interested in spending some good amount over a phone from the Sony Ericsson Camp of equal calibre, please read on…

Satio, apparently is or hasn’t been designed in solitude. It had company. Yes. A sequel. Well, interestingly, the photo that we have may not conform to any prior rumours or truth, but as promise, we must bring out the scoop ;)

Named Kurara, the Satio sequel will probably be a device based on the Symbian S60 platform.

Yari will be the first one

Japanese-Swedish phone maker Sony Ericsson will pack its future handsets with the Flexion technology from Accumulate UK, according to a global licensing deal the two companies signed and announced recently. According to Accumulate UK, Sony Ericsson becomes this way the first handset vendor around the world to include mobile games with Flexion on new mobile phones, based on the success Hutchison 3G UK has had.

As many of you might already know, it was only recently that mobile phones started to come to the market with pre-loaded games. Games are now seen as a necessary component of any mobile phone, yet they were only considered a means of cheering oneself up before. Full versions of games were present on handsets previously only after phone makers paid publishers license fees for them.

However, Accumulate UK’s Flexion technology is meant to transform the costs handset makers register for having full game versions pre-loaded on their devices into a revenue stream. What it is meant to do is to make users curious about the content on their devices and allow them to try out games before they purchase them, while also offering them ‘rent for the day’ or ‘have-a-go for 25p’ options, the company states.

“We are delighted that Sony Ericsson has taken this step together with us. We have been preloading Flexion enabled games with operators for a while now with very good results. With the help of Sony Ericsson we will extend our reach significantly,” Accumulate’s MD Jens Lauritzson commented on the agreement between the two companies.

The Flexion technology has been also designed so as to promote games similar to the ones pre-loaded on the handset, something that should end up in new trials and sales. According to Accumulate, this move is called ‘on-device retailing.’ The technology is to be included first on Sony Ericsson’s Yari device, due for release before the end of the year.

And this is Xperia X3 Rachael, as claimed by mobile-nova. Looks authentic to us. The display is simply awesome. The proprietors are expecting a lot from Sony Ericsson Rachael and we hope it lives up to every expectation.

The 8MP camera we already knew about is obviously confirmed, coming with autofocus, image stabilization, face detection, smile shutter, LED flash and VGA video recording.

The rest of the smartphone’s specs reportedly include:

  • Quad-band GSM connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • Dual-band 3G (900/2100 MHz) with HSDPA 10Mbps and HSUPA 2Mbps
  • 4 inches touchscreen display with 800 x 400 pixels
  • Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11g
  • A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • E-mail (POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, MS Exchange)
  • MiniUSB
  • MicroSDHC card support

Sony Ericsson Rachael / Xperia X3 will have a customized UI on top of Android (probably Android OS 1.5).

Although its difficult to say when exactly is the release date, we sure are waiting to grab our hands on this moel and write a review as soon as possible.

The WinMO6.5 packin Xperia X2 according to the French, is due to be hitting stores shortly.xperia-x2-france-rm-eng-150x93

Apparently the Xperia X2 will be seen soon on store shelves in France, supposedly within the next two months. It’s quite pricey though the cited price is some 600 Euros which is approximately $800 and this doesn’t take into account carrier subsides.

We will need to keep our eyes and ears open for some more information on that. We are looking forward to seeing how the new OS can handle itself. Although looking at it we don’t really think thst the resistive touchscreen nature of the device holds out very much hope.
