A few days back, we had posted a news that certainly broke all your hearts out there. But hey, looks like 2009 has got lots of releases in store from the company. The latest news is Sony Ericsson may actually outsource production of its Android-powered handsets to Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) although the company has declined to say when its “Google phone” will be available, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
If you remember, company CEO Hideki Komiyama had said during a recent interview with Reuters that it would take some time before Sony Ericsson offers its own Android-based handsets. Whether that was a bluff is yet to be seen actually!
However, the Commercial Times quoted market sources citing internal documents at Europe-based carrier Orange
which indicate that Sony Ericsson and Orange will jointly launch Android phones in time for the 2009 year-end holiday season.
The Android phones which will bare SE’s brand would be outsourced to Foxconn – the manufacturer that also makes Apple’s iPhone.
The rumor goes on to say that Orange expects to jointly launch an Android device [or devices, plural
] with Sony Ericsson in time for the holidays this year. All eyes and ears set on May 28th EU News now!! Idou will either be symbian as we all know or if it really releases during Falls, then it may be…

Sony Ericsson CEO Hideki Komiyam hinted that the company may take some time before putting into consideration the practical implications of using Google’s Android software interface in their new phones.
Its strange that the company has decided to give rest to its usage of the software when rivals HTC and many other companies are actually rushing forth to shell out phones with its help.

“It does require a lot of evaluation, as well as a lot of testing, a lot of acceptance from a consumer viewpoint, and there is still some time to go,” Komiyama told Reuters in an interview.
“Looking ahead I think that we see this as one of the important operating systems, there is no doubt,” he said.
The sinking Titanic has further decided to use three operating systems in its high-end phones — Symbian, Android and Microsoft’s Windows Mobile- this comes as a welcome relief in this age of smartphones!
“Our focus is on how can we differentiate from the competitors using the same operating system.” Komiyama said further that the company owing to dissatisfaction of customers, has decided to concentrate more on user interface ( the latest key cramping, of so un-Sony Ericssonish- standards, cast a bad impression already despite the phone’s other advantages)

In case you are wondering what the above pic could mean, it is probably a tampering of the T707 Elle release pic in order to create hype. As for now, we have no idea
The company’s hopes are all pinned on the release and sale of the much awaited Idou. Let’s see what happens next.
