Mobile games publisher GlobalFun has announced that it’s nominated Sony Ericsson’s head of special projects Mikael Nerde to join its board of directors.

Nerde is best known to the industry for his role as head of applications acquisitions and content planning at the handset maker.

This included leading the team that launched Sony Ericsson’s mobile developer program, and working on the company’s embedded content strategy.

“Mr Nerde is very well known and highly respected in the games community,” says GlobalFun board chairman Johan Christenson. “We are confident that his expertise and connections in the mobile games industry will be a great asset for us.

Nerde is equally complimentary, saying that GlobalFun is “the most interesting mobile games company in Sweden today“. His aim is to help the company become an international industry player.

He’s certainly familiar with the publisher, since GlobalFun is one of the two used by Sony Ericsson for its PlayNow Arena content portal.

Maybe Nerde would bring a much-awaited break! Something that, Sony Ericsson desperately seeks.

Eh? Interesting?

Yea, that’s exactly what I felt when I got this little piece of news that Remi Pedersen, the Graphics Product Manager at ARM, has promised the possibility of Xbox 360 graphical Interface, implemented, yea you heard right, implemented, in phones supporting the celestial higher-end Mali-200 and Mali-400 processors! :o

Now, Mr. Remi completely refused to divulge information on such chip prices or ratings, Mali mobile GPUs are already showing up in some phones. The 65nm Mali-55 is a first generation core in LG Electronics’ Renoir phone. Partnered with an Arm CPU, that phone runs Flash, but unfortunately has no shader capabilities. But phew, it still has some advantage for being a tiny OpenGL ES GPU – good for 3D gaming. Hey, did you know that Apple iPhone supports OpenGL ES 1.1 as well?
