4G Willing to Enter Commercial Market

Posted By: spoon on July 19, 2009 in News - Comments: No Comments »

Ah! All those poor mobile phone users who just bought a new 3G phone and thought of keeping it for atleast two years will need to scream at this-

Japan’s NTT DoCoMo says it will press ahead with a 2010 launch of 4G or Long-Term Evolution (LTE) services on its own, much as it did with 3G in 2001.

Key to persuading customers to use 4G services will be convincing them that phones can be the centre of their entertainment lives. To that end, LTE will play a significant role in quickly delivering movies and other media over connections expected to hit 300Mbps.

Welcome SE’s PlayNow™ Arena Download Station

Posted By: spoon on April 1, 2009 in Accessories - Comments: No Comments »

After seemingly perpetual months of failure and the large sustaining financial losses in the first quarter of the year itself, here’s some really good news for the customers/. The company, claiming its commitment to full on i-Entertainment has unleashed its latest powerful accessory. Meet the Sony Ericsson PlayNow Arena Download Station that supports oh-so-fast and  speedy downloads. Old fans obviously know that download contents shall  include more than 5 million music tracks, movies, more than 250 games and popular serials too, maybe, from PlayNow Arena. The Download Station will be available in retail outlets owing to its bulky size.

If we remember, January 2009 witnessed the release of PlayNow Kiosks in Asia which is considered globally the first-of-its kind. Highly innovative and convenient mode of download that promised a globalised PlayNow, complete with PlayNow Arena and PlayNow Plus.

Those who are not aware

PlayNow™ Arena is a dual delivery service for download of digital entertainment content such as music, games and ring tones. With PlayNow™ Arena , the consumer receives the music track both on the PC and the mobile phone. The Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland) were the first countries to launch PlayNow™ Arena in August 2008. PlayNow™ Arena offers 100% DRM-free music (non-copyright protected) in high quality mp3 format (320 kbps). This allows music to be transferred freely between devices. PlayNow™ Arena has been now also available in Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and the UK and other countries as well.

Thus with these Download Stations, consumers can easily browse and purchase mobile entertainment content through a highly intuitive and user-friendly interface on touch-screens panels which is a great news of course :P

P.S. Some people at the source site don’t believe it! LOL!!
