Sony Ericsson managing director Nathan Vautier on combating the problem of returns and quality control
Sony Ericsson’s flagship phones have been returning at an alarming rate over the past year.
Four out of 10 handets have been reported as faulty for some models, and the C905 is its most recent casualty.
In 2008, mass recalls on flagship devices, the K850i, W910i and C902, prompted operators to seek considerable compensation from Sony Ericsson.
Retail chiefs and store staff have said they are losing confidence in the manufacturer, amid concerns that selling Sony Ericsson devices will result in phones being returned by angry customers.
In March, Mobile reported that software freezing and speaker faults on the eight-megapixel camera device, the C905, were responsible for returns as high as 30% in some areas.
In April, when the figure of returned handsets grew to four out of 10, retailers and operators said they would take a more rigorous stance on the manufacturer’s product range in 2009, and would not be afraid to refuse flagship handsets if there were doubts on quality.
It has been a baptism of fire for Sony Ericsson’s new UK managing director, Nathan Vautier, who is gallantly tackling the issue head-on.
The story of Terminator Salvation is quite removed from the style of its predecessors though. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, after the Skynet Corporation has decimated a large proportion of the world’s population, John Connor leads the final assault into the heart of Skynet itself. It’s humanity’s last chance for salvation, and is sure to be an action-packed thrill fest.
The Terminator Salvation theme for the Sony Ericsson phones is simple enough to install. Just follow the instructions below.
Cheers
A few weeks back we got a rumour floating in the internet about a new version of the C905 Cyber shot phone from Sony Ericsson. Well, there you are. The RUMOUR CAME TRUE! Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-Shot phone 8GB sees the air outside! It has been released on T-Mobile deals in the UK

The new edition of the 8.0 megapixel Sony phone includes an 8GB memory card to boost the original 160MB + 2GB card storage capacity.
There have not been any spectacular changes n the phone except the changes made in the sales package! Yea, that’s a disappointment!!
The Sony Ericsson C905 8GB is a superb 8 megapixel sliding camera phone with loads of great features – red-eye reduction, face detection, image stabilisation, Xenon flash and Best Pic technology. With an 8GB memory card there’s plenty of storage space for your pics. Internet access on the move is fast and easy with web’n’walk.

There seems to be a problem with Sony Ericsson’s new flagship handset the Sony Ericsson C905 as apparently the word is it is being returned in rapid style.
Apparently returns of the Sony Ericsson C509 8 megapixel camera phone is as high as 30 percent in some areas, and the reason has been put down to software freezing and speaker faults.
Nathan Vautier, Sony Ericsson managing director of the UK and Ireland has said Sony Ericsson understand there are specific quality issues on early batches of the C905 produced in 08 and Sony Ericsson rapidly implemented steps to resolve the issue such as speaker problems. Vautier went on to say that Sony Ericsson will continue to work hard to restore the quality standards expected on Sony Ericsson handsets.
According to a recent Reuters report, Sony Ericsson will launch its C905 Cyber-shot 8 megapixel camera phone in the U.S. at some point during the second quarter. Sony Ericsson’s Head of Product Marketing, Jon Mulder, estimates that the device will cost $199 to $249 after contract. Although the phone could appear on T-Mobile or AT&T, Mulder didn’t say which carrier would offer the device.
The company is hedging its bets on the popularity of photographs on social networks by offering a high-resolution camera phone, but analysts worry that its high price point might not keep pace with more powerful touchscreen smartphones like Apple’s iPhone or Google’s Android-powered G1.
Mulder argued that there were many factors in favor of the shooter. Phones tend to do well when U.S. operators promote them, and many people are still looking to buy traditional phones, he said.

Smape a renowned cell review site, previewed the C905 and has nothing but praises to offer to the 8 megapixel beast. Here are a few excerps from the review itself.
As seen from the samples, the photo quality is perfect; the competitors can do nothing but be jealous of Sony Ericsson. Unfortunately the quality of video remains just as unimpressive as it used to in multiple earlier models; for instance, K750i suffered from this flaw yet it didn’t prevent the handset from becoming a bestseller. C905 sports exceptionally high chances of taking a top position in the charts. The model looks extremely interesting and is, of course, a very actual addition to the cell phone market. A review of the upcoming C905 gadget will be available shortly, disclosing all the secrets of the powerful and versatile SE product which, if the release date doesn’t get shifted because of an inconvenience, will enter retail sale in October.
