 Apparantly Sony Ericsson’s flagship eco mobile phone for this year is expected to sell for around £300 Sim-free.

Sony Ericsson said the phones honoured their ‘long standing commitment to eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals from the product design and manufacturing process.’

They claim the changes reduces the CO2 footprint of the phones by 15 per cent.

Both phones include an application to let the customer work out the greenhouse gas emissions they can save by walking instead of taking a car.

The C901 and Naite are expected to go on sale later this year. They are being promoted as the ‘pioneer products’ of Sony’s green business strategy.

Today Sony Ericsson announced it’s new C901 GreenHeart™ Edition. The new C901 GreenHeart™ is basically the same phone as C901 Cyber-shot™, which was announced on the 10th of February 2009.

C901, if we remember, is a 5.0 MP camera. The Sony Ericsson C901 can be used with GSM Quadband network, other features include a memory card slot, 2.2-inch TFT display screen, FM Radio, Bluetooth and built-in accelerometer sensor. Its been released with 3 color options: Noble Black, Sincere Silver and Precious Peach.

Sony Ericsson C901 – Simple Style

The Sony Ericsson C901 is a stylish bar designed mobile phone packed with great entertainment and imaging features and functions. This stylish looking handset comes available in a choice of three coloured casing which include black, peach and a silver colour. The C901 handset has a great solid feel to it but is not heavy, with a respectable weight of 107g and with measurements of 105mm x 45mm x 13mm the C901 is a great sized mobile phone which easy is to hold and operate with ease. There is a 2.2 inch TFT coloured screen displaying up to 262k colours with screen resolutions of 240 x 320 pixels, making for clear and colourful displayed images.
