Hey please don’t think that I am going to discuss physics here. The following can actually bring a much awaited evolution in the mobile arena.
Lets first talk about Peizoelectric materials, which can generate electrical currents through simple mechanical stresses - they essentially convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. The technology has great potential for future energy-generation solutions, including future cellphones powered by your body!

New research breakthroughs in nanowire technology has allowed scientists to harness the energy of low-frequency vibrations (like a heart beat or the rise and fall of your chest as you breathe) using zinc oxide nanowires.

Xbox Or PSP?
Hmmm. That’s a dilemma hard core gamers face when choosing between the two giants of the gaming world
Now, what if I tell you that you get an Xbox feature in your Sony Ericsson phone or let us say, I give you the opportunity to spend as little as possible on a phone of suitable platform and present to you a phone that booms and bangs your life with games based on real 3D, read again, REAL 3D graphical interface? Eh? Interesting?
Yea, that’s exactly what I felt when I got this little piece of news that Remi Pedersen, the Graphics Product Manager at ARM, has promised the possibility of Xbox 360 graphical Interface, implemented, yea you heard right, implemented, in phones supporting the celestial higher-end Mali-200 and Mali-400 processors!

Now, Mr. Remi completely refused to divulge information on such chip prices or ratings, Mali mobile GPUs are already showing up in some phones. The 65nm Mali-55 is a first generation core in LG Electronics’ Renoir phone. Partnered with an Arm CPU, that phone runs Flash, but unfortunately has no shader capabilities. But phew, it still has some advantage for being a tiny OpenGL ES GPU – good for 3D gaming. Hey, did you know that Apple iPhone supports OpenGL ES 1.1 as well?

There are still clouds hovering over the reality behind this freshly leaked phone Twiggy’s live pictures. Following are two blurred live images of the much talked about Twiggy.

It has been rumoured that Twiggy has a 3.2 MP camera but without AF, QVGA or the very popular TFT screen and other features of mid-range phones as slotted for the year 2009. It is yet to be ascertained whether Twiggy has been cancelled or whether the leak at the press release of MS 500 bluetooth speakers was a mere publicity stunt to keep the fans guessing. Whatever the case, the rumour mills are surely running high.
