Let’s start with pointing out that these are merely concept pictures, which have appeared on a Korean website. That I must add does seem to be reputable website.

They discuss the Xperia X5 Nadine and it’s acknowledged that the concepX5 does I fact look more like concept! The existence of the product by their own admission is very doubtful. According to the comments on the Korean site it claims that the Sony Ericsson X5 adopted the Android system.

It seems the Sony Ericsson X5 if it is real or turns out to be will be some beast of a phone, available in three colors and with some amazing specs, including a 3.5 inch touchscreen, sliding full QWERTY keyboard, 12 MP camera with auto focus and XENON Flash. Have a look for yourselve’s and see what you make of it.

Sony Ericsson is looking to switch more of its handset production to China by increasing local suppliers of components at the cost of reducing its non-Chinese suppliers. Matthew Costello, corporate vice-president of Sony Ericsson and head of global operations, told the Chinese official news agency, China Daily that the move would enable the world’s fourth-largest cell phone maker to “be more close to our manufacturing activity”.

He added: “Roughly 90 percent of (Sony Ericsson’s) finished products, including handsets and accessories, are now manufactured locally in China.”

The company has already reduced the number of component suppliers from around 300 to 175 over the past couple of years.

“Currently, roughly 80 percent of our suppliers are Asia-headquartered,” Costello added, without saying how many are based in China.

Sony Ericsson held a global supply conference in Beijing earlier this week.

Mobile Tube. Sony Ericsson Germany is running a YouTube-based campaign for its W995 handset using interactive video. The clip features four navigation buttons. The ‘Video Quiz’ tab links the user to a contest featuring Jan Delay where players can win a W995. The ‘PlayNow Arena’ button delivers a showcase of all the content available for the phone. The ‘Top Features’ channel delivers… well, you kinda know already. While those clicking on ‘YouTube Function’ get to see how they can put the viral video site in their pockets: Nice use of  i-video functions – expect more campaigns like this on YouTube, though perhaps more exciting.
