Subtly priced, Sony Ericsson C510 phone is an astonishing gadget packed with features like a 3.2 megapixel camera, smile and face detection, autofocus and picture editing techniques. . It even looks like a flagship device, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Sony Ericsson C902.

Design

The C510 is a smart-looking candy bar design, with a low-key front panel and some nice contrast silver and dark blue edging on the black version of the phone we tested (there’s also a silver version with grey trim). It has a slimline build, with dimensions of 107(h) x 47(w) x 12.5(d)mm, and a respectably solid 92g bodyweight. It feels good to hold and operate, the numberpad nicely set up with large, well defined and responsive keys a pleasure to press.

Unlike the more popular Walkman series, the C510 is also the forefather of Cybershot range, having adopted the index number 5**

Sony Ericsson has also added another delight in this phone for its decdicated users and that’s called the Smile Shutter utility. It is a fascinating function that recognizes the point when a person is smiling and photographs it up automatically.

You can also make use of the Snapfish orientation that can allow you to print pictures. This feature has been especially added by the HP allowing you to give print commands from the phone itself. You can also print them by uploading on the PC which well, is an old feature :D

ADVANTAGES

Its major advantages inclue a UMTS / HSDPA 2100 (tri-band for the US), up to 3.6 Mbps, which can enable high speed internet connections. Moreover, one can send emails wherever they are with an Email client. It’s a hi-fi technological device with quad-band GSM phone.

Jazz Your Life With Elle!

t707_product_quality_image_1

Now ride Glamour straight on the neck! Bringing to you is the stylish and stunning Elle, na, that’s the name of a phone ;) The official name to this new princess on the block, lol, is the clamshell Sony Ericsson T707 with over-the-top light effects and oh-so-cool gesture control! Smokiiiiiiing :D

26th March, 2009, USA’s Miami witnessed the release its latest mobile phone, the T707, with tennis star and style icon Maria Sharapova, as its brand ambassador who added the perfect hue  to this elegant and high in style quotient T707

t707_ms_2

The T707 is highly sensitive and interactive – it lights up when you receive a call and you can personalize the light settings, so you always know who wants you.  If you are too busy to answer, simply end the call with a wave of your hand over the screen – you can also do the same gesture to snooze the alarm – your very own magic wand! That is what is meant by the gesture sensitivity ;)

“The T707 is my ultimate new accessory,” said Maria. “I am always on the go and I need a phone that is easy to use, and of course chic as well!  I never miss a call with the eye-catching light effects and personalized pulsation settings and I love the fact that I can just wave my hand to mute a call using the gesture control.

Design of the SE Xperia X1
Splendid design. An Eye candy! Made of brushed metal , the phone throws in some chrome detailing which gives a great sleek and sexy look. Feels great!
HTC must be credited with actually designing and making the X1.

Navigation Keys
The triangular navigation keys shape is unique. The company argues that it optimizes the size of the buttons while making it feel as though your fingers naturally go there. But it might be a bit of confusing if dug at for the first time!

Optical Mouse
In the middle of the navigation keys underneath the touch screen lies an optical toggle. Instead of building in the typical up/down/left/right button setup, Sony Ericsson opted for one button that allows you to swipe your finger up/down/left/right (or press inward) to get the desired result. It may irritate those who are used to the standard layout.

Touchscreen
Sony threw in a beautiful 480×800 WVGA touchscreen that measures at 3.0″. While very narrow, the clarity of the screen itself is wonderful and it is a resistive touchscreen.

Slide-out Keyboard
The most unique part of the X1’s design is its chrome-laden and curvy keyboard.

Ericsson Restates Vows To Sony; ‘We Are Committed’

Despite tabloid-like gossip regarding the partnership between Sony and Ericsson , it doesn’t sound like a break-up is on the horizon. Rumors have speculated that the two are disagreeing about everything from the handset maker’s product road map to how to stem its mounting loses. On Friday, Sony Ericsson warned that it will lose between €390 million ($533 million) and €340 million ($465 million) in the first quarter because of “weak consumer demand.” But Dow Jonesreported today that Sweden’s Ericsson has no plans to abandon its joint venture. Spokesperson Minako Nakatsuma Olofzon: “We are committed to the joint venture…we haven’t changed our view on that.”

Alright! Did it ever come in your mind to accuse Sony Ericsson of not updating and upgrading its Walkman series? Well, it should not, for it has brought you a fantastic phone wrapped up with really cool features!

w705_see_the_product_large_1

Pros:
Stylish brushed aluminium design
Wi-Fi connectivity
HSPA 3G
Walkman music player
4GB Memory Stick Micro card supplied
Decent earphones in-box
User-friendly interface
Quality sliderphone feel
BBC iPlayer and YouTube supported
Google Maps software

Cons:
No GPS
Average quality 3.2-megapixel camera
Average video capture
No smartphone OS
No 3.5mm headphone socket on casing

Design and handling
W705 somewhere resembles W880 if we closely look at its edges and sides, sharply styled with brushed aluminium, a subtle gold trim, plus a rubber-feel back panel. A 2.4-inch QVGA display dominates the front, giving a bright, clear and reasonably large platform for its multimedia spin-overs. Its dimensions are an acceptable 95(h) x 48(w) x 14.3(d)mm, and its weight which is 98g echoes the solid feel of the bodywork.

Meet Athena, now to be known by its official model number, the S312, a snapshot candybar Sony Ericsson phone. Judging by that, it will be the spiritual successor to the Sony Ericsson S302

Not Athena!

Not Athena!

S302

We can expect the S312 to be your average entry level cell phone as it comes with a meagre 176 x 220 resolution display and a built-in camera without auto-focus. Information about its price has been closely wrapped but word has it that the S312 will hit selected markets sometime in the third quarter of 2009.

Athena, lets not forget, is a device that was first spotted back in October, 2008.

The Sony Ericsson Athena, or S312, comes to the market as the successor of the company’s S302. It is expected to come with a photo snapper that would feature more than 2 MP camera, although it won’t include auto-focus, as stretched previously.

It seems the device will come to the market as a rather affordable one, which might suggest that it won’t be too much of a feature-packed handset, but more like a low-end, simple-looking one.

Stay tuned to learn more. For we love keeping you updated

Cheers!!

Looking at the dwindling real state of affairs of the company, together with the global economic repression, this little piece of News may seem irritating or even depressing!

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (“Sony Ericsson”) today announced that Najmi Jarwala, President of Sony Ericsson USA and Head of Region North America (comprising the US and Canada markets), has chosen to leave the company at the end of March to pursue other career opportunities.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Dick Komiyama, President of Sony Ericsson, said, “Under Najmi’s leadership we have redefined our North American strategy, built operational excellence and strengthened our total presence considerably in this very important market. We are sad to see him leave Sony Ericsson after more than three successful years, but at the same time we wish him all the best for his future.”

“It has been an incredibly rewarding time for me and we have achieved a lot together in North America,” said Najmi Jarwala. “We have introduced an increasing number of new products, grown market share, built operator relationships and, perhaps most importantly, have laid the foundation for North America to play a key role in the long term growth and success of Sony Ericsson. I have been privileged to have led a team of passionate, creative and innovative people at Sony Ericsson and I wish them every success,” he added.

Little is known what actually compelled Najmi to leave the company at this time.
